Tom,

I've got a lot of people screaming at me to demonstrate a good crossing.
Tension is high because the big test is around the corner - now pushed up
to start 15 July. We've gone so long without demonstrating new learned
crossings because of lightning and dirty oil - both these problems seem to
be eliminated now. The accreditation team (who has to approve the simulator
as an acceptable way to conduct the test) is bothered by the total load
being 40,000 to 50,000 lbs high on our initial simulated crossings. My
thinking was that the preload and the apparent slow release of some
cylinders was causing the high overall load. Because we added more wiffle
constraints the preload can go away and because we cleaned up the oil and
replaced the worst of the sticking valves I think that the performance will
be much better as you have indicated. In the next few days and over the
weekend I will be going through the process of producing some good
crossings. If this is unsuccessful I will need some HELP! Is Rod available?
Would you call me some time today at the trailer 410-278-9230 or the desk
-8629.

Pat
